The settings at this step depend on the selected report type. For detailed information about the specific report type, we encourage you to refer to the documentation in the corresponding report section.

In general, each report can have its own settings for Step 4 and other settings. To find out more details about each specific setting at this step, please select a setting below. It may also be helpful to refer to the corresponding section for the particular report.

Here are some settings you may encounter while setting up your report:

GA migration date

Due to the deprecation of Google Analytics UA, migration to Google Analytics 4 is necessary. The transition from using UA to GA4 data is seamless, and Alvie just needs to know when you would like the transition to happen. This is done through the parameter GA4 migration date. Ideally, this date should be the date from which you trust the data in GA4.

After the transition, you can validate how the data looks in the created dashboard and you can always return to this field in the report within Reporting solutions to change it if needed.

When selecting the GA4 migration date and having a Google Analytics UA account added, data will be backfilled to the Base table and Analytics table with the following metrics:

  • sessions

  • engagedSessions

  • newUsers

  • screenPageViews

  • purchase (LNDA)

To set the date, simply select the desired date from the calendar:

Target currency

The different data sources may have different currencies. To simplify and clarify the output results for reports, we unify them into a single currency. The target currency is the currency in which all currency-based fields, such as cost, revenue, etc., will be shown in the resulting report.

To set a currency, simply select the desired currency from the dropdown menu:

Setting a currency here does not affect the currency set up for your workspace within Alvie.

Lookback window

Used in the report: Shopping insights report v2

The Lookback window for Google Merchant Centre defines the number of days in the past to consider data for the report. It affects fields such as Titles, Product types, Custom labels, Price benchmark, and more.

To set the number of days, simply type in the desired value or use the default setting of 90 days.

Holiday region

Used in the report: Arima plus forecasting report

Holidays have a significant impact on businesses. For instance, a toy store might see a spike in sales around Christmas, while a costume store might see its peak around Halloween. The importance of these holidays can vary based on the region or country you operate in.

What does selecting a holiday region mean to you

By selecting a holiday region, you're telling the model which country's or region's holidays to consider when making its predictions.

For instance, if your business mostly caters to customers in the USA, you would select the USA as your holiday region. This ensures that the model considers major U.S. holidays like Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc., when forecasting.

If your business caters to a global audience or multiple countries, you can select multiple regions. This way, the tool will adjust its predictions based on holidays across all these regions.

You can get more inspiration here or you can also see the holidays for a region by running i.e.

SELECT * FROM bigquery-public-data.ml_datasets.holidays_and_events_for_forecasting WHERE region = “DK”

To choose a Holiday region, simply select the desired value from the dropdown menu:
