What is happening?
A user-defined report is failing to run because the specific combination of dimensions, metrics, or inputs selected in the configuration is not supported by the data source.

Error: The selected fields in the config are invalid. Here's the full error message: errorMessage.

Why did this happen?
This error typically occurs when the configuration sent to the API contains incompatible fields. Common causes include:

  • Incompatible Dimensions/Metrics: Selecting a metric that cannot be broken down by a specific dimension (e.g., combining "Search Keywords" with "Video View Quartiles").

  • Schema Changes: The external platform has deprecated or renamed one of the fields selected in your configuration.

  • Input Validation: Required fields were left blank or contain values (like date ranges or filters) that the API cannot process.

Solution Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Open the Detailed Status popup in your Alvie dashboard to view the full errorMessage provided by the external service.

  2. Locate the Source: Find the affected connector and click Edit Configuration.

  3. Action: Adjust the selected dimensions, metrics, or filters based on the specific feedback in the error message. Refer to the data source-specific documentation to ensure the field combination is valid.
