User-defined reports are custom reports where you, as the user, can select the dimensions and metrics you want to retrieve from Snapchat Marketing API.

When you select a user-defined report, you will see additional fields in the interface.

To build this type of report, you need to define the required dimensions, metrics, and breakdown yourself. Here is some guidance on how to do that.

1. How to define dimensions and metrics

You can select any of the required metrics. To learn more about the available metrics, please refer to the documentation here for 'Core Metrics' and 'Additional Metrics'.

The available dimensions depend on the breakdown you select (see p.2 below 'How to Define a Breakdown').

For example, if you select CAMPAIGN as your breakdown, you will be able to include the attributes explained under 'Campaigns' here.

If you select CAMPAIGN as the breakdown and NAME as the dimension, the name would be the CAMPAIGN NAME. However, if you select AD as the breakdown and NAME as the dimension, the name would be the AD NAME.

2. How to define a breakdown

Breakdown refers to the level of data aggregation. The possible options are: AD, ADSQUAD, or CAMPAIGN. You can learn more about the concept of breakdowns in the documentation here.
