What it is about
The Pinterest connector extracts data directly from the Pinterest Marketing API and makes it available for use in your BigQuery environment.
To set up a new Pinterest connector:
1. Go to Data Insights → Connectors.
2. Click the button Create new connector in the top right corner. This will open the connector configuration page.
3. Start by giving a name to the connector.
4. In 'Step 1: Data Source', select Pinterest as the Data source type.
5. Next, under Select Data Source, select your Pinterest Ads account. If no Pinterest accounts are yet connected to Alvie, you will need to connect this data source to Alvie first. To do so, simply follow this guide.
6. In 'Step 2: Report', you can select the metrics and dimensions the connector will pull by choosing one of the pre-defined reports or creating your own report by choosing the user-defined report option.
7. In 'Step 3: Date range', select the date range to be applied to the connector. For more details, check the guide here.
Pinterest data availability: Pinterest limits how far back data can be requested, depending on the report configuration. The connector automatically trims the requested range to what Pinterest supports:
Hourly reports: last 8 days, up to a 3-day span at a time.
Product item reports: last 92 days, up to a 31-day span at a time.
All other reports: last ~914 days (about 2.5 years), up to a 186-day span at a time.
8. In 'Step 4: Data Target', set up data targets to ensure your data is placed correctly. Follow the guide here on how to do this properly.
9. Once you are ready, you can activate the connector and start it immediately. It is also possible to save the connector without activating it and return to it later.
