To access the Custom groupings overview page and view all the custom groupings you have created, follow these steps:

  • Go to the left-hand menu

  • Select Setup

  • Choose Custom groupings

On the Custom groupings overview page, you will be able to see and manage all the custom groupings you have created:

1. How to edit custom grouping

To edit a custom grouping, simply select the 'More' menu and then choose 'Edit custom grouping':

Editing a custom grouping follows the same process as creating a custom grouping. However, it is important to note that editing a custom grouping can potentially cause issues if the grouping has been used elsewhere in Alvie.

Once a custom grouping has been associated with a model or a report in Alvie, it is advised not to:

  • Remove data sources

  • Remove groups

Making either of these changes can potentially disrupt the functionality of the models that rely on the defined groups.

If you need to remove data sources or groups, it is recommended to create a copy of the existing custom grouping, make the necessary changes, and then update the models that depend on the grouping to use the updated custom grouping.

2. How to copy a custom grouping

To copy a custom grouping, simply select the 'More' menu and then choose 'Copy custom grouping':

A full copy of the custom grouping will be created.

3. How to delete a custom grouping

To delete a custom grouping, simply select the 'More' menu and then choose 'Delete custom grouping':

Once this action is performed, a custom grouping will be deleted. Please be aware that this may potentially impact other models that rely on this custom grouping. We strongly recommend exercising caution and careful consideration before making the decision to delete the custom grouping.
