While defining groups, you have various options to access real-time data on how the actual data from your data sources is segmented into these groups. There are several different ways to accomplish this.

The 'Other' group is a special category where all data that doesn't meet the conditions set in the groups you created will naturally be placed. It is recommended to strive for an empty 'Other' group by ensuring that all data is appropriately categorized. However, it is also acceptable to include some long-tail data in the 'Other' group if necessary.

1. Distribution tab

This provides a brief overview of the allocation of a specific metric to each group. Additionally, you have the option to switch a particular metric to one that better suits the requirements of a custom grouping case.

The values displayed in the Distribution tab can also be viewed in the Groups overview:

2. Inspect results tab

This tab provides you with the opportunity to delve into how the data in your data sources is divided into the groups you have defined. It is highly recommended to use this tab to gain a comprehensive understanding of your groups and make any necessary iterations to ensure that all your data is correctly categorized.

For instance, when reviewing the results in the Inspect results tab, you might notice a significant number of sessions originating from 'google/organic'. In such cases, you may choose to create a dedicated group specifically for 'Organic search' to categorize these sessions separately.
