What is happening?
The connector is unable to communicate with the external platform because the saved credentials are no longer valid. The data sync has stopped because Alvie lacks authorized access.

Error: Try signing in again to reconnect the data source.

Why did this happen?
This error typically occurs when the authentication session between Alvie and the data source has been terminated. Common causes include:

  • Credential Invalidation: The specific technical cause is unidentified, but the link is no longer active.

  • Security Revocation: The user may have manually revoked Alvie's access from within the data source's security settings.

  • Password/Security Updates: A password change or the implementation of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on the source account has broken the existing connection.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Go to the Data sources tab in the left-hand menu of your Alvie dashboard.

  2. Locate the Source: Find the data source that is displaying the error.

  3. Action: Click the Connect new data source button at the top of the page

Then select Add new credential. Log in using the credentials for the specific account that is failing.

  4. External Steps (If applicable): Complete any 2FA prompts or permission "Allow" screens on the external provider's login page.

  5. Verify: Once re-authenticated, trigger a rerun of the affected connector and monitor for 2–5 minutes until the status turns Healthy (Green).

Prevention & Tips To avoid seeing this error again:

  • Dedicated Service Accounts: Use a dedicated "Service Account" for connections to prevent sync interruptions when individual employee passwords change.

  • Regular Monitoring: Periodically check the 'Data sources' tab to ensure all credentials remain active before they impact your reporting solutions.

If you encounter any further issues or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Alvie support team.
