You can watch the complete setup process in the video or refer to the step-by-step guide provided below.

Step 1. Select the report

Select the report type: Shopping insights report v2.

Step 2. Select the data sources and choose custom groupings

Please note that there are several prerequisites that need to be met before setting up the Shopping insights report v2:

  1. The user-email connected to the Google Cloud Platform project used in the report must have access to all the selected Google merchant center accounts.

  2. If this is the first time the user-email is using the Google merchant center data transfer, there is a possibility of encountering a bug. You can find more information about this bug at the following link.

Here is a detailed explanation for each data source:

Google merchants center

Select the Google merchants center accounts connected to Alvie, as explained here. You can choose multiple accounts.

Google Ads

Select the Google Ads accounts connected to Alvie, as explained here. You can choose multiple accounts.

Step 3. Define data target properties

In this step, you will find the basic settings, which require you to define the Google Cloud project and BigQuery output dataset. For detailed instructions on how to correctly fill in this data, please refer to the documentation provided here.

Additionally, this step includes advanced settings that are optional to use. Here, you have the ability to define the schedule for creating Shopping insights report v2. By default, the schedule is set to daily, but you can choose other options that are suitable for your needs:

You can learn more about how the schedule is set up here.

Step 4. Other settings

This step includes an important setting called Target currency and Lookback window, which is explained in detail here.

Step 4. Activate the report

If you have finished configuring the settings, you can activate the report. However, if you still need to make adjustments to the settings, you can choose to save without activating.

For more detailed information on report activation and setting up the Looker studio dashboard, please refer to the documentation provided here.
