It may be the case that you want to share a dashboard in Looker studio with a colleague. To do so, after you have created a permanent link to the dashboard as explained here, you can utilize the general sharing function available at the top of the page.
It is important to note that when you invite someone to the dashboard, they do not have direct access to the underlying data, such as the data in BigQuery. As a result, the person you invite may encounter difficulties in accessing the Looker studio dashboard that you shared with them.
You can address this situation in two different ways:
1. Ensure that the invited person has access to the underlying data, such as granting them access to the BigQuery tables.
2. Modify your credentials from 'Viewer' to 'Owner'. There are two different variants on how to do that:
Variant 1: You can modify the permissions for your credentials from 'Viewer' to 'Owner' when saving a permanent link to the Looker studio dashboard. Please follow the instructions provided in the video for guidance.
Variant 2: If you have already created the Looker studio dashboard and saved a permanent link, you can change the credentials permissions by following these steps:
Go to Resources → Manage added data sources in the top navigation.
Choose the required data source for which you want to change the permissions.
Select 'Edit' and switch the credentials permissions from 'Viewer' to 'Owner'.
You can refer to the video instructions for a visual demonstration of this process.
