All the reports created in Reporting Solutions in Alvie utilize Looker Studio dashboards for visualization. To access the dashboards in Looker Studio, you need to set them up first.
To begin, follow these steps:
Go to Data and reporting → Reporting solutions.
Select the report that you are interested in.
Step 1: Ensure that your report in Alvie is active.
If you have just created a report for the first time, it may take some time before the report actually starts running. Therefore, you need to ensure that the report is ready and that the dashboard can be created. Once the report is ready, you will see it in the 'Active' status in the status column.
Step 2. Create a dashboard in Looker studio
Click on the 'More' menu (three dots following the status of the report) and select the 'Create dashboard' option.
Step 3. Save the draft of the Looker studio dashboard
Once you click on 'Create dashboard', you will see a draft of the Looker studio dashboard. Please note that this is only a draft. In order to use your dashboard in the future, make modifications, and share it with your colleagues, you need to save this draft first.
To do so, click on the 'Save and share' button located at the top of the page.
Before saving, it is important to review the data access and make any necessary adjustments.
If you want to share a Looker studio dashboard with your colleges, you need to have Owner’s credentials, not Viewer’s credentials. Read more on how to share a dashboard with a college here.
Step 4: Save a permanent link to your Looker studio dashboard
Copy and save the link to your dashboard. This link will serve as a permanent reference to your dashboard. Please note that the link is not stored in Alvie and you will need it whenever you want to access your dashboard in the future.
Step 5: View and review your newly created Looker studio dashboard
To review your dashboard, simply click on the 'View' button located at the top of the page. This will allow you to see and assess the content of your newly created dashboard. You may also stay on this page, where you have access to edit panels.
Here is an overview of all the pages in your dashboard that you can use for inspiration and analysis.
