How to set up the Product mix modelling report

To set up the Product mix modelling report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Select Data & reportingReporting solutions

  3. Click on the 'Create new report' button.

Step 1. Select the report

Select the report type: Product mix modelling report.

Step 2. Select the data sources and choose custom groupings

A prerequisite for this report is to have the following fields set up in Google Analytics 4: itemId, itemName, itemBrand, itemCategory, itemCategory2, itemCategory3, itemRevenue, itemsPurchased, and itemsViewed.

Here is a detailed explanation for each data source:

Google Analytics 4

1. Select the Google Analytics 4 accounts connected to Alvie, as explained here. You can choose multiple accounts.

2. To edit the market grouping according to your specific needs, you can refer to the explanation provided here. Keep in mind that Custom grouping is important when setting up the Product Mix modelling report.

Both fields are mandatory.

Step 3. Define data target properties

In this step, you will find the basic settings, which require you to define the Google Cloud project and BigQuery output dataset. For detailed instructions on how to correctly fill in this data, please refer to the documentation provided here.

Additionally, this step includes advanced settings that are optional to use. Here, you have the ability to define the schedule for creating the Product mix modelling report. By default, the schedule is set to daily, but you can choose other options that are suitable for your needs:

Step 4. Other settings

This step includes an important setting called Target currency, which is explained in detail here.

Step 5. Activate the report

If you have finished configuring the settings, you can activate the report. However, if you still need to make adjustments to the settings, you can choose to save without activating.
